Training Director Captain Mick Caulkin (far left) spent a week in Manila running a training course for the Liberian Shipping Register. This course is held once or twice a year in various locations for each new batch of Liberia flag State Auditors. This is the 10th such course delivered by Mick.
The training covered ISM and ISPS Auditing to Liberian procedures, Accident Investigation and MARPOL Awareness over 5 busy days. 24 delegates attended, of 17 different nationalities from all around the world. The delegates are all senior shipping professionals, many of whom have sailed as Master or Chief Engineer, who will be qualified to perform Flag State ISM and ISPS Audits for Liberia.
Mick says that he always enjoys these courses, which although demanding on the lecturer, are very interesting with so much expertise and experience to share among the group, and with many stimulating workshops practising audit skills.
